Lofthouse Cookies Copycat

The recipe for these cookies is an easy way to recreate the taste of Lofthouse frosted sugar cookies that are found at your local bakery. Try adding sprinkles and different types of icing, or even making them into fun shapes with cookie cutters!

  • ½ cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 2 ¼ cups cake flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • frosting
  • sprinkles


  • Cream butter, cream cheese, and sugar together until fluffy, about 5 minutes.
  • Add eggs and vanilla and mix until incorporated.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture.
  • Scoop balls of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Chill dough balls for 30 minutes.
  • After cookie dough has chilled for 30 minutes, preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit.
  • Roll chilled dough into smooth balls and lightly press the tops to flatten.
  • Bake cookies for 12-14 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove from sheet and finish cooling on a wire rack.
  • Spread store bought or homeade frosting on top and decorate with sprinkles.
